Basic Self-Care Kneads    

Approved by the NCBTMB under the category of self-care for 4 CE hours.

  • New Bern (NC) Class will be Thursday, August 3rd  in the evening
  • Lewisville (NC) Class will be Sunday, August 6th  in the morning

Class Description:  This class is designed to give you an opportunity to focus on yourself and your self-care routine. I believe in having fun while learning and hope to bring elements of both to my classes.  Students will learn self-care activities such as yoga & meditation. The intention of this course is for students to develop a self-care plan based on the techniques learned in class and implement that plan into their daily life.

What to Expect:  After introductions and registration, we will have an open discussion on what you’re currently doing for self-care. There will be a 45 min yoga session lead by a RYT. We will have a 15-minute meditation session as well. We will have a self-care bingo game, and close with review, questions, evaluations, and certificate presentation.

What to Bring: Yoga mat, throw blanket (or large beach towel), and a bolster (optional). Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for stretching.

What is Provided: Water and light snacks will be provided. Yoga blocks and straps are on site.

This course is especially helpful in educating your clients on their own self-care.

Basic Business Kneads 

Approved by the NCBTMB under the category of business for 4 CE hours.

  • New Bern (NC) Class will be held Thursday, August 17th in the morning.
  • Lewisville (NC) Class will be held Monday, August 14th in the morning.

Class Description:  This class is an introduction to the business side of the massage therapy profession. Many massage therapy programs do not include a business program; therefore, I have created this class to educate and answer questions regarding the basics of business.

What to Expect:  After introductions and registration, we will begin a power point guided lecture on the process of setting yourself up for private practice. In addition to the basics, we will also discuss basic bookkeeping and taxes. We will close with a review, questions, evaluations, and certificate presentation.

What to Bring: Items you use to take notes (pen, paper, tablet, computer, etc.).

What is Provided: Water and snacks will be available.

Cost: $125 – 4 CE Hours NCBTMB APPROVED


Dealing with a Client’s Death   

Approved by the NCBTMB under the category of self-care for 4 CE hours.

New Bern (NC) Classes will be held:

  • Monday, August 21st in the evening
  • Friday, October 27th in the morning

Lewisville (NC) Classes will be held:

  • Sunday, August 6th in the afternoon
  • Monday, October 16th in the morning.

Class Description: This class was designed to bring LMBTs together to talk about their clients that have died. We often don’t have the ability to talk about this sensitive subject in an open environment among other professionals that have experienced the same situation.

What to Expect: After introductions and registration, we will have an open forum discussion (as much as you’d like to share) about the special clients that have touched our lives and the effects of the passing of those clients on our lives and our massage practice. We will have a healing activity as well. Class will close with a course evaluation and certificate presentation.

What to Bring: No additional items are required to attend this class.

What is Provided:  Water and snacks will be available.

CE Provider Prep Course (Formally Navigating the Teaching Process)    

This class is approved through the NCBTMB under the teacher training category for 8 CE hours.

  • New Bern (NC) Class will be held Sunday, October 1st
  • Lewisville (NC) Class will be held Saturday, October 14th

Class Description: This class is designed to give you teacher training that will satisfy the requirements of the NCBTMB for you to apply as an approved provider. We will thoroughly cover the approved provider application process. We will spend some time covering creating curriculum, resume writing, course descriptions, creating a syllabus, learning objectives, as well as preparing you to apply as an approved provider. If you are ready to teach for yourself, this is the class for you.

What to Expect: After introductions and registration, we will cover the application process to become an approved provider through the NCBTMB. The afternoon will be spent covering the specifics of creating your curriculum and class content. Class will close with a review of material, questions, course evaluation, and certificate presentation.

What to Bring: Items you use to take notes (pen, paper, tablet, computer, etc.).

What is Provided: Water and snacks will be available.

Cost: $200 – 8 CE Hours NCBTMB APPROVED


Prenatal Kneads

Approved by the NCBTMB under the category of Pregnancy massage for 8 CE hours.

  • New Bern (NC) Class will be held Sunday, September 3rd
  • Lewisville (NC) Class will be held Saturday, September 16th

Class Description:  This class is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of prenatal massage. You will learn contraindications, draping, and side-lying work for prenatal clients. If time permits, you will learn and practice some KT taping for the prenatal client as well. The intention of this class is to create a comfort level in working with the pre- and postnatal client.

What to Expect: After introductions and registration, we will have a discussion on the fundamentals of prenatal massage. There will be table work to introduce prenatal side-lying work. If time allows, we will have prenatal clients available for you to practice KT taping of the prenatal belly. We will end with a review of the class, questions, class evaluation, and certificate presentation.

What to Bring: Massage table, linens (sheets/blanket), and lotion. This class will require you to have a minimum of 2 pillows.

What is Provided: Water and snacks will be provided. KT tape will be provided for practice.

Cost $200 – 8 CE Hours NCBTMB APPROVED


Trauma Awareness

Approved through the NCBTMB under the category of Trauma for 8 CE hours.

New Bern (NC) Classes:

  • Thursday, September 14th
  • Sunday, October 29th

Lewisville (NC) Classes:

  • Sunday, September 17th
  • Sunday, October 15th

Class Description: When you are aware of the trauma within yourself, you are better equipped to create treatment plans for clients that have underlying trauma. You will understand where trauma manifests within the body and the emotional response that releasing trauma may create.

What to Expect: After introductions and registration, we will have a discussion on the fundamentals of trauma in your massage therapy practice. There will be a trade done between therapists that is intended to reveal any trauma present in the body. Because of the sensitive nature of this class, you DO NOT have to undress for table work if you choose. This is a safe space for you to come and practice intentional trauma awareness for yourself. We will end with a review of the material, questions, class evaluation, and certificate presentation.

What to Bring: Massage table, linens (sheets/blanket), and lotion.

What is Provided: Water and snacks will be available. An emotional pain chart will be given to you for your reference.

Cost: $200 8 CE Hours – NCBTMB APPROVED


Ethics – Triggered

This class is approved through the NCBTMB under the category of Ethics for 4 CE hours.

New Bern (NC) Class will be held Wednesday, September 20th in the evening.

Lewisville (NC) Class will be held Monday, September 18th in the morning.

Class Description: This class is approved as an open forum class for students to share the ethical dilemmas they have encountered that have created “Triggers” for them within the profession.

What to Expect:  After introductions and registration, we will have an open forum discussion (as much as you’d like to share) about the ethical dilemmas we have faced in our massage practice and those that have created triggers for us as therapists. We will have a fun activity in addition to an ethical bingo game. Class will close with a course evaluation and certificate presentation.

What to Bring: No additional items are required to attend this class.

What is Provided: Water and snacks will be available.
